The first trend and niche that is going to take off in 2023 is tourismshirts. With the past few years of travel being so restricted and limited due to many different factors, this year we are seeing something that has started to be called revenge tourism, where people are upset that they haven't been able to travel and just decided to, no matter what they are going to travel in (2023). But with that brings a lot of opportunities for print on demand sellers. There are many ways for you to break into the tourism print-on-demand genre.

Vacation Shirts for Vacation

You can target cities that people are traveling to, countries that people are traveling to, and really find some places that are growing in popularity. I would definitely be looking up where are some of the most popular destinations people will be traveling to, and you could even take already popular sites and add things like 2023. So you could create a batch ofshirts for vacation. Malibu (2023). Although it seems like it makes more sense for people to actually buy these tourism-styleshirts and products–phone cases and sweatshirts–While they are actually on vacation, you would be shocked how many people actually buy these items before they even leave, either so that their entire family can match on a vacation or just so that they have something cute to wear on their trip. So a lot of times people are going to Etsy and to Amazon to look for unique vacation items that they can wear to their spot that is going to commemorate where they went and just be something fun to wear. The Next Niche Is One That Is Not Going to Explode in 2023

Either you can put the last name of a family traveling. You can put your exact location that you are going. You can put the names of the travelers. Definitely the political niche is one that you want to pay attention to. It's already huge right now, but as the year progresses and people are more and more thinking about the general election that is going to take place in 2024, this is just going to get huge, and I anticipate towards the end of next year it's really going to take off, so you're going to want to be staying on top of that. Definitely taking a look at news, different candidates, and no matter what side of the aisle you are on, there are definitely some ways that you can profit off of different political niches.

The Next Niche That Will Do Super Well in 2023

The next niche that I know is going to do super well in 2023 is the niche of thrifting and buying second hand, with a lot of people just generally tightening their belts and just raining, and they're spending a lot and even more attention on the climate and people wanting to make greener choices. There has been a big shift to thrifting, buying second hand antiquing, and just reusing what you already have. While it seems like it might be kind of ironic or counterintuitive, a lot of people that are really into things like garage selling and thrifting and antique are actually looking for products to show off that they like those hobbies. There are tons of thrifting niches that are really growing, and I even think that things likeshirts for antiquers or junkers–people who love garage selling–are going to do super well. But also you haveshirts that are going to do well in saving the planet and doing things that are just generally greener, so this is definitely a niche to keep your eye on and start making a lot of different designs in both the thrifting and antique niche. I know there are so many fun phrases and graphics that do super well, but I think that are just going to continue to sell, as more and more people are going to thrifting as their main source of finding things, instead of just automatically heading to those big box stores. Not only is this something that a lot of people are wanting to do with Gen Z, thrifting has become something that is super cool and trendy, so it can almost become like a status simple to say that you thrift your clothes and that you support buying second hand. All those types of products are definitely going to do super well in 2023 and beyond.

Gen Z Humor Shirts – The Next Niche That's Going to Take Off This Year

Along with that last one, the next niche that I know is going to do super well, because it's already starting to take off a little bit this year, is Gen Z humorshirts. Gen Z is getting older and has more spending power now than they ever have before, and with the rise of apps like TikTok, Gen Z is actually driving a lot of the trends and a lot of the consumer habits that we are seeing emerge this year and that will continue to emerge next year. Sarcastic and funnyshirts are definitely some of the best sellers any time of year, but with the rise of this more Gen-Z humor, we are definitely seeing a little shift of what those types of sarcastic and funnyshirts that are selling are.

If you are not from Gen Z yourself or just aren't really familiar with the type of humor, a lot of it tends to be darker humor, focusing on things like existential, read, and just more dry memes, and dry humor that sometimes doesn't even come across as really funny, but it's just kind of out there. An example of types ofshirts that I've seen starting to do well this year–but I know things like this are going to continue to explode next year–are when you have a really pretty graphic, maybe like flowers or a sun, and then on it it's going to say something like smile today, because tomorrow we could be dead. Just that. Really like dark humor that doesn't even really seem funny, but is just contrasted by maybe some more cute or funny elements. There are always new trends emerging with Gen Z, so you're definitely going to want to stay on top of what is new slang that is trending.

What are trends that are popping on TikTok? There are many opportunities that are going to be created throughout the year because of how fast these trends evolve and change with Gen Z, but it's definitely something you're going to want to know. As we see, a lot of those more millennial sarcasticshirts are starting to decline in their sales, and there's a bigger rise in more of these dark humor and dry humorshirts really taking off because of Gen Z. The next trend and niche that is really going to take off in 2023 is the trend of home-studies and hobby crafts. During the epidemic, we really saw the trends of home studying and making things from scratch start to take off. But this has just continued to a whole new level at the end of this year, and I know it's going to continue into next year also.

Making Shirts For Old School Hobby Crafts

More and more people are looking to have simpler lives, to start making things on their own. With the economy the way it is, a lot of people are needing torely on making stuff from scratch because they can't always afford to buy it themselves. But we've seen a real revitalization of things like canning of bread making, even quilting, crocheting, knitting. All of those more oldtimey hobby crafts are really having a rise in popularity, along with people actually having real working hobby farms on their own properties, raising things like chickens and goats. With that, there are lots of opportunities to makeshirts for people interested in these hobbies. for the first time. I would definitely be focusing on makingshirts and products for these old school hobbies, for people wanting to live that more home-style life or who are just baby and wanting to do some of these older crafts, and to piggyback right off of that.

The Next Trend and Niche That Is Going to Do Super Well in 2023

The next trend and niche that is going to do super well in 2023 is a return to all things retro, nostalgia and vintage items. With everything going on in the world, there are so many people that are really glamorizing the good old days or just looking back on their childhood with fondness and wanting to remember that and have those good feelings again. Vintage styles, colors and graphics have really exploded at the end of this year, and I don't see that stopping anytime soon as we approach 2023. Groovy 60's and 70's designs haveexploded in a number of different niches, so that is definitely something you're going to want to take a look at. Isputting a Groovy 60s or 70s twist on some of your niches that are already doing well? But we've also seen more true vintage from the 1940s and 50s, also selling very well, some oldtimey phrases and graphics doing well. And there's just been a return of general nostalgia.

So think video games from the 80s and 90s. Even the early 2000s have really exploded this year, and I see that continuing, with some of those colors and trends emerging from the early 2000s. While this isn't generally a phrase or niche that you can target, the style of shirt's is definitely tending towards a more nostalgic and vintage look. Get some inspiration from some of these older time periods and use that to create some new designs with maybe some niches that already do well for you. So I know 90's nostalgia is going to do super well. The early 2000s is going to explode in 2023, for sure, and a lot of these other vintage and retro colors and niches have really started to do well.

Print-On-Demand – Is Your Business Ready for 2023?

So take advantage of people really wanting to look back on the good old days and experience some of those feelings that they had back then. Or just Gen Z, who generally has a fascination with buying second hand with looking back on those older time periods, and they want to experience that for themselves. So a lot of these older retro items are actually being sold to people who weren't even alive at that time. definitely a great opportunity for you to capitalize and make some great print-on-demand products in these more retro and vintage niches. In just a year, print on demand has changed so much. So as we approach 2023, there are some outdated tips and advice that I still see.

A lot of print on demand sellers living by and trying to make work, but some of these just flat out don't work anymore and are actually causing your business more harm than good.
